Fall Chapter News and Update

Thursday, October 02, 2008

Summer’s over gentleman, and it’s time to rededicate ourselves to the improvement of our community and our beloved alma mater. We have a number of activities planned for this fall that require the involvement of loyal alumni like you.  Here’s a preview of those events.

  1. Freshman Email Mentoring Program — Those of you who were paired with incoming freshman in May should be in regular contact with them now. We are continuing that program this November with students from Central High School, Carver High School and Roman Catholic High School. If you are interested in becoming mentoring a student, please contact the chapter’s executive committee or send an email to the chapter secretary.

  2. Philadelphia Homecoming Happy Hour — The chapter is partnering with Philadelphia’s Spelman Alumnae Chapter to organize an after-work social on October 15 in celebration of what will surely be a Morehouse victory over Albany State University. More details are forthcoming.

  3. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service — January 15, 2009

  4. Morehouse College Glee Club Concert — March 25, 2009 at Bright Hope Baptist Church

  5. Spring Happy Hour — May 14, 2009

  6. Annual Freshman Picnic> — June 13, 2009

  7. Annual Big 12 Explosion College Fair — September 2009
